Student Feedback

Matthew McAuley 孔秋, American My experience studying Chinese in Taiwan

Since beginning my studies of Chinese, I have had many teachers at several different schools. Overall, the Chinese Language Education Center at Providence University is my favorite. Many students are initially attracted to Beijing or Taipei to study, and they end up paying too much or getting a poor education. This school, however, simply has the best combination of great teachers, great program staff, and affordable tuition. And not only that, but the location is good, too. You can live in Shalu, where it is quieter, or in Taichung which is a very modern and exciting city. The cost of living is low here, so students on a budget can make their money last. The most important thing is the quality of education, and in this aspect Providence excels. All aspects of the language--speaking, listening, reading and writing--are taught. The students come from all over the world and are very serious about learning. The teachers have the experience and will give you extra assistance to help you understand. I have been pushed harder here than at any other school, so, it has challenged me and helped me reach my full potential. If you are truly dedicated to Chinese, then, make Providence University's CLEC your first choice.
