The Taiwan Mandarin Educational Resources Center, established by the Ministry of Education to promote Taiwan as a global leader in Mandarin education, originated from the Global Mandarin Education Project Office. In August 2021, the Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association took over its operations. To assist the Ministry of Education in managing Mandarin-related programs, enhancing the quality of Mandarin centers at Taiwan's universities, and promoting Taiwan's high-quality Mandarin education resources internationally, the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan has been entrusted with the center's operations since August 2022.

　　　

　　In July 2022, the Ministry of Education launched the Mandarin Education 2025 Plan, pooling interdepartmental resources to lay the foundation for Mandarin education and to showcase Taiwan's quality soft power internationally, aiming to attract elite foreign talent to Taiwan for Mandarin studies. The Taiwan Mandarin Educational Resources Center marks a new phase for Taiwan in the field of international Mandarin education, serving as a unified service platform that consolidates resources from industry, government, and academia to meet the global demand for Mandarin learning. The center's operational goals include:

• ✔  Enhancing Mandarin Teacher Training: Develop high-quality Mandarin teaching personnel through training programs and the promotion of professional knowledge to support global Mandarin teaching demands.
• ✔  Improving the Mandarin Teaching System and Resource Integration: Establish a comprehensive teaching framework, integrating diverse materials and resources to provide professional support for both learners and teachers of Mandarin.
• ✔  Advancing Digital Mandarin Education: Develop digital materials and online teaching tools to meet modern learning needs in innovative ways, making Mandarin teaching more flexible and diverse.
• ✔  Promoting International Expansion of Mandarin Education: Actively engage in international marketing and industry-academia collaborations to expand Taiwan's global influence in Mandarin education, and participate in international educational exchanges to encourage Mandarin learning.
• ✔  Strengthening the Mandarin Education System: Continuously improve Taiwan’s Mandarin education system, establishing the country as a global model for Mandarin teaching.
