Eligibility:Each tour should consist of 15 to 20 members, with a two-week training program in Taiwan. Priority will be given to Mandarin teachers who play a key role in promoting Mandarin education in their home countries and have not received similar subsidies from the Ministry in the past three years.
Subsidy Coverage:A daily subsidy of NT$2,000 per person will be provided during the training in Taiwan, for up to two weeks. Airfare and insurance are not covered.
Subsidy Recipients:Universities/colleges in Taiwan or nonprofit educational organizations approved by the Ministry of Education to conduct the training program.
Mandarin Study Tours for Foreign Students in Taiwan
Short-Term Study Tours
Eligibility:Students enrolled in formal educational institutions abroad at all levels, along with one to two accompanying instructors.
Implementation:Organized by Taiwan’s overseas missions. Each tour should consist of at least 15 participants (including accompanying instructors) and undertake study at Mandarin language centers of universities/colleges in Taiwan. The program should include at least 15 hours of Mandarin classes per week (five days a week, excluding cultural excursions).
Subsidy Amount:NT$6,000 per person per week, generally for a period of 2 to 4 weeks. Grant Distribution:The subsidy will be disbursed by the hosting university/college in Taiwan to each participant according to their actual length of study.
Semester Programs
Eligibility:Degree students currently enrolled in accredited foreign universities.
Implementation:Organized through cooperation between Taiwan’s overseas missions and foreign universities that have established Mandarin study-abroad programs. Eligible degree students are recommended to come to Taiwan for study.
Subsidy Amount:NT$40,000 per person per semester, for a maximum of two semesters.
Grant Distribution:The subsidy will be disbursed by the hosting university/college in Taiwan to each participant according to their actual length of study.
