National United University, Chinese Language Center

National United University Chinese Language Center  National United University Chinese Language Center was established in 2008. Initially, the Center was set to help the university to promote international exchange activities, teaching Chinese as foreign language learning camps, and the development of Chinese teaching materials. In May 2015, the Center was allowed to recruit graduates and Education in Taiwan. Chinese Language Center, National Taichung University of Education

National Taichung University of Education (NTCU) is a university with proud legacy. National Pingtung University, Chinese Language Center (CLC)

Website: https://eng.nptu.edu.tw/ Following the merger of the former National Pingtung University of Education and the National Pingtung Institute of Commerce and Technology into the National Pingtung University (NPTU) in 2014, the strengths of our university's higher education, teacher training, and vocational systems have been integrated. In line with our university's vision of enhancing international competitiveness, every effort has been made to promote both domestic and foreign language courses and initiatives with utmost dedication. The Chinese Language Center (CLC) was established on August 1st, 2005, originally under the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at our university. Starting from February 1st, 2020, in response to the needs of academic development, the university underwent organizational adjustments. As a result, the responsibilities of Mandarin Chinese division of the Language Center were transferred to the Mandarin Chinese Teaching Center under the Office of International Affairs. National Taiwan Ocean University, Chinese Language Center

National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) was established in 1953 as Provincial Taiwan Maritime Technology College. Eleven years later, in 1964, we became a maritime college that offered bachelor's and master's degrees in various maritime fields. During this period, the college was supported by the Taiwan Provincial Government of the Republic of China. In 1979, we became a national institution, and were renamed the National Taiwan College of Marine Science and Technology. A decade later, in 1989, the college became a full-fledged university. At present, NTOU has 7 colleges - Maritime Science and Management, Life Sciences, Ocean Science and Resource, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as Humanities and Social Sciences and Ocean Law and Policy . These Colleges house a total of 28 undergraduate departments and graduate institutes. As we look at the progress over the past years, the University has undergone great growth and change and is now recognized as one of the nation's most important centers of learning and scholarship, especially in the marine sciences and maritime studies. National Dong Hwa University, Chinese Language Center

Chinese Language Division of Language Center, National Central University

National Central University, NCU, is located in Zhongli, Taoyuan, Taiwan and it has become a home to more than 12,000 students. Currently NCU has 8 colleges, 22 undergraduate programs and 50 graduate programs. NCU is also one of the members of the University System of Taiwan (UST), sharing resources with National Tsing Hua University, National Chiao Tung University, and National Yang Ming University. We have been selected twice in “The Aim for the Top University Project”, receiving grants from the Ministry of Education. The University has consistently been evaluated as “Excellent”. We are ranked as No. 3 in Taiwan by Google Scholar Citations (267 in World), No. 4 in Taiwan in 2015 U.S. News & World Report (427 in Best Global Universities Rankings) and ranked 351-400 in QS World University Rankings. Founded in 2001, our Chinese language center is the first Chinese language center established at a university in the Taoyuan region, boasting a long history and an outstanding faculty. All the Chinese language instructors in our teaching team  are  certified by the Ministry of Education for their proficiency in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. They are highly qualified with extensive teaching experience and engaging teaching methods. The Chinese language courses offered at our center include year-round intensive quarterly  (10-15 hourse/per week), one-on-one Chinese classes, Chinese credit courses for degree students, as well as customized short-term Chinese language workshops and study tours. Each year, we organize the International Student's Chinese Drama Competition and the International Student Chinese Forum to encourage students to practice Chinese, embrace independent learning, and improve their organizational and expressive skills in academic Chinese. Through diverse avenues, we aim to enhance students' Chinese language proficiency.  

Vanung University, Chinese Language Center

Vanung University was founded by Professor Hsin-Chai Chuang on March 27, 1972. It was named in the beginning as Van Nung School of Industrial Skills, providing two-year programs in Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Civil Engineering, with senior high school graduates admitted. In 1973, it was renamed as Van Nung Institute of Industry, and the Department of Industrial Management came into existence, recruiting vocational high school graduates. In 1982, the night school was set up. In 1990, it was renamed again as Van Nung Institute of Industry and Commerce with business/management-related departments being set up. In 1999, it was upgraded as Van Nung Institute of Technology. The night school was renamed as School of Continuing Education ; meanwhile, the College of Continuing Education with offiliated weekend classes was set up.There are thirteen departments consisting of four studying categories, recruiting high school and vocational high school graduates in classes of the four-year technological college system and the two-year junior college system, and junior college graduates in classes of the two-year technological college system respectively. In 2002, the Graduate School of Business and Management was established. On Feb.1, 2004 VIT was renamed as Vanung University. Four academic groups were upgraded to four colleges. In 2004, Graduate School of Enginecring Science and Technology was established.There are more than ten thousand students and over 400 faculty members on campus today.  

Nanya Institute of Technology, Chinese Language Section

Founded in 1969, we are a university located in Taoyuan City of northern Taiwan. For years, it has cultivated numerous elites in industrial, official and academic circles. Mission The Chinese as a Foreign Language Program of Language Center at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech)  is working to broaden the global vision of students. Providence University, Chinese Language Education Center

靜宜大學華語文教學中心 Providence University Chinese Language Education Center The Chinese Language Education Center (CLEC) of Providence University (PU) was founded in 1996 and is oneof the 49 Chinese Mandarin languages teaching Institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education. The Center's instructors are all native Mandarin speakers and can speak English and other foreign languages. Instructors offer bilingual instruction to beginners and entirely Chinese instruction to intermediate & advanced levels. More than 6,500 students from 95 different countries have learned Chinese Mandarin at our CLEC since its establishment.

National Chin-Yi University of Technology, Language Center

We have established Foreign Language Teaching and Mandarin Teaching under the Language Center as a concentrated effort on foreign language teaching and study that is coupled with  certificate examination preparation programs, ESP programs, a variety of language courses, elite programs for English as well as German and Japanese languages in order to boost the students’ international mobility. For international students studying in NCUT, Mandarin courses are provided with a variety of activities and cultural related events. The purpose is to help students better involve themselves in local life and offer a smoother study experience. Fu Jen Catholic University, Center of Chinese Language and Culture

Fu Jen Catholic University is located in Xinzhuang Dist., New TaIpei City. MRT Fu Jen University Station is right in front of the main gate of school. There are some convenience stores (such as 7-11, family mart), supermarket (Pxmart, Costco) and grocery store for students to buy groceries. Center of Chinese Language and Culture was established in 1964. ＊Lecturing in small groups There are about 200 students in each term. To maintain effective interaction between teachers and students, classes are designed to be small with no more than 7 students in group class. It is also optional for students to arrange to inlabelidual class or a smaller group class (within 2-3 students).  ＊Lecturing both in Zhuyin and Pinyin, Traditional and Simplified characters The Language Center adopts both Hanyu Pinyin and Zhuyin Fuhao systems on lecturing. We have created two series of teaching materials in both systems for students to meet their needs without problems on learning Chinese.  Additionally, our teachers are capable of lecturing by using simplified characters with their own-made materials, which are satisfactory to foreign students who learn Chinese in simplified characters. Our teachers are also able to teach students with textbooks within simplified characters or both in writing without causing learning difficulties.

Kun Shan University, Chinese Language Center

Kun Shan University was officially founded on April 29, 1965, known as Kun Shan Institute of Technology. It is located on Kun Da Road, Yung Kang District in Tainan City on a beautiful and spacious campus including a quaint shimmering pond, a combination of ancient Chinese and modern structures and is home to a nine cornered bridge, pavilions, flowers and trees. In August 2000, Kun Shan Institute of Technology was promoted by the Ministry of Education to a technological university. Many new facilities have been constructed on campus, such as laboratories, audio-visual classrooms, faculty research rooms, and discussion rooms to provide both students and faculty a positive environment to study and do research. Originally, it was an industrial junior college, then afterwards it was changed to a junior college of industry and business. Seated on lush green mountain side with a creek running beneath, the Chinese Language Center of Soochow University(CLC, SCU) has her own newly refurbished complex, fully equipped with dorm and learning facility under one roof- the only one of its kind in Taiwan. Twenty minutes of walk from the natural greenery takes one to the cultural heritage in the world renowned Palace Museum. The Chinese Language Center (CLC) of the College of Liberal Arts at the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) was established in 1982. For over forty years, the CLC has been offering Mandarin Chinese language courses and study abroad experiences to international students from beginners to advanced levels with many commenting on how Tainan City is the perfect place to learn Chinese as the friendly local citizens have created a safe and high-quality living environment. In addition, the CLC has the honor of educating the next generation of Chinese instructors through its Teaching Chinese as Second Language Education Programs. The CLC, located on the beautiful NCKU campus, is composed of a group of experienced instructors, professional administrators, diverse courses, and various learning resources. NCKU is a domestically and globally well-known, leading integrated research university situated in the heart of Tainan, the historic capital of Taiwan. Without a doubt, Tainan is an important cultural and educational center in Taiwan where both modern and traditional customs blend together. The CLC offers a complete 2-year curriculum from pre-novice (Level A) to advanced (Level I) to suit the needs of students with different backgrounds and experiences. The class level is determined according to a placement test. Small group classes are filled with 6-13 people. The CLC runs the program on a quarter system, with four quarters each year. Each quarter features 10 or 11 weeks of courses. A full-time student is required to take at least 15 hours of classes per week during a quarter. The 15 hours is formed by required comprehensive language courses of 10 hours and 5 hours of elective courses. If learners prefer one-on-one instruction, individual classes are also offered in accordance with students’ personal needs and learning differences. History Chinese Culture University (CCU) founded in 1962. The International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) was established in 1962 as the Stanford Center and later the Inter-University Program (IUP) for Chinese Language Studies. National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) was founded in 1924 under the name of "Kaohsiung State Pingtung Extension School of Agriculture." Subsequently in 1928, this school was expanded and renamed as "Kaohsiung State Pingtung Agricultural School". After Taiwan was liberated from Japanese colonial rule in August 1945, this school again changed her name to "Taiwan Provincial Pingtung Agricultural Vocational School of Agriculture" in November of that year. This school was then upgraded to "Taiwan Provincial Institute of Agriculture" in 1954, enabling a subsequent integration of this Institute with the Pingtung Agricultural Vocational High school in 1963. After this integration, the Institute went through a series of upgrades and name changes, including "Taiwan Provincial Pingtung Institute of Agriculture" in 1964, "National Pingtung Institute of Agriculture" in July 1981, "National Pingtung Polytechnic Institute" in July 1991, and then the "National Pingtung University of Science and Technology" in August 1997. Currently NPUST has a total of 27 departments and 32 graduate institutes offering Master's degrees and 8 Doctoral programs. These departments and graduate institutes are distributed among four colleges: agriculture, engineering, management, and humanities and social sciences. NPUST's undergraduate school currently offers baccalaureate degrees to graduates of a four-year program and a two-year program. The four-year program admits students graduating from vocational high schools or their equivalents, while the two-year program admits students graduating from vocational institutes and their equivalents. NPUST has also established a night school to admit students with at least one year's work experience. NPUST's graduate school offers master and doctoral degrees in more than thirty disciplines that cover the Colleges of Agriculture, Engineering, Management, as well as Humanities and Social Science. We have different level classes, from beginning to high level. The basic class will open irregularly. You can email or call to ask more specifically time. If you have learned before, we will do the placement test. There are 8-15 students in one class. We will use Hanyu Pinyin to teach all the courses.

Moreover, international personages have come into contact with Chinese language and culture through participation in Chinese political, economic and cultural exchanges activities; this has created an increasingly positive international atmosphere for the study of Mandarin language. Finally, many international students, because of a particular academic interest, work requirement, life exigency, weigh up Taiwan’s lifestyle and its political and economic environment and choose to spend a period of time studying Mandarin in Taiwan. In order to meet the demands of a rapidly globalizing Chinese Language market, Ming Chuan University established the Mandarin Studies & Culture Centre(MSCC) in 2002, with its prime responsibility to develop and promote Mandarin education, cultural exchange and social activities. Since September 2010, Asia University (AU) has established a Chinese Language Center (CLC) to coordinate the internationalization and recruiting of international and exchange students. The mission of the Chinese Language Center (CLC) is to provide the best quality of Chinese language courses and a learning environment which promotes Chinese culture to AU's foreign students and overseas exchange students. Asia University’s CLC designed Chinese courses are graded in accordance with The Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) for foreign students. National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) was originally founded in Shanghai in 1896 under the name of Nanyang College and shares the same origin as the Jiaotong universities in mainland China. In 1958, NCTU was re-established in Hsinchu City. Since then, the University had became the forerunner of science and technology in Taiwan and laid a firm foundation for the Hsinchu Science Park, the “Silicon Valley” of Taiwan. Over the years NCTU has become one of the most prominent universities in Taiwan. As a center of academic excellence of international repute, it has made significant contributions to the development of information, communication and optoelectronics sciences and technology. Chinese Language Center National Chengchi University

National Chengchi University (NCCU), located at the foot of Zhinan Mountain in the south of Taipei City, is one of the most prestigious schools in Taiwan. Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Chinese Language Center

In 1967, entrepreneurs Mr. Sun Fa-Min and Mrs. Sun (Madam Chen Shu-Chuan) started raising funds for a junior college to train more technicians to meet the economic development needs of the R.O.C. After two years of preparation, Lunghwa Polytechnic was approved by the MOE in November of 1969, and started recruiting students in December of the same year. In the beginning, there were only four departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. In 1973, the school changed its name to Lunghwa Junior College of Technology. In 1973, the Department of Industrial Engineering was established. In 1983, the Evening Session was approved. In 1989, the school was renamed Lunghwa Junior College of Technology and Commerce. In the meantime, the Department of International Trade was established. In 1990, the Department of Information Management was added to the program. In 1998, the school was upgraded to a four-year college and was renamed Lunghwa Institute of Technology and an on-the-job training program was added. In 1999, the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, the Department of Business Administration, and the Department of Finance and Banking were established. In 2001, the Institute was ratified to change its name to Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. The Department of Computer Information and Network Engineering, the Department of Multimedia and Game Science, master's programs in Mechanical Engineering, and the Institute of Business and Administration were established. In 2002, master's programs in Electrical Engineering and in Electronic Engineering were included. In 2004, the Graduate School of Engineering Technologies was added to the graduate program. In 2009, Graduate School of Business and Management was established. Because of the excellence in teaching and university evaluation results, the establishment of two new departments, Cultural Creativity & Digital Media Design and Tourism & Leisure, are both approved by the Ministry of Education. And the master's program in Chemical & Materials Engineering will be set up in 2013. Lunghwa has expanded from three departments to current three colleges, fourteen departments, and eight graduate schools. National Taiwan Normal University, Mandarin Training Center

The MTC is a subsidiary of National Taiwan Normal University and was founded in the autumn of 1956 for teaching Chinese as a second language. Currently, the MTC is the largest and the most renowned Chinese language center, with around 1,700 students from more than 70 countries enrolled each academic quarter (three months.)MTC students come from different cultures and language backgrounds. They share the common goal of learning to communicate in Chinese effectively--some for employment; some for interests in Chinese culture and history. Many students have never learned Chinese before they enroll at the MTC, whereas some are good enough to start at intermediate and advanced levels. No matter what your motivation for learning Chinese is or the level of your Chinese, the MTC will do all it can to help you make rapid progress.  

I-Shou University, Chinese Language Center

 I-Shou University, established in 1986, is located at the foothill of Guanyin Mountain, northeast of southern Taiwan’s major harbor city–Kaohsiung.The University currently has 9 colleges with approximately 17,000 students. There are approximately 2,300 overseas students from 48 nationalities. Apart from its modern and functional campus, I-Shou University is also known for its natural environment.The campus offers a wide range of facilities and restaurants. I-Shou University is located at E-Da World, the major tourist recreation area in Southern Taiwan. In 2010, the Webmetrics Ranking of World Universities ranked I-Shou University the 9th out of 153 accredited universities in Taiwan, and the 1st among private universities in Taiwan.Around campus, there are many opportunities for CLC-ISU students to interact and make friends with other ISU students.
