School Introduction:

The International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) was established in 1962 as the Stanford Center and later the Inter-University Program (IUP) for Chinese Language Studies. Since then, it has offered intensive language training to thousands of students from countries over the world. Maintaining the tradition of small classes and intensive instruction by expert teachers, ICLP enables students to achieve broad and independent competence in spoken Chinese and to develop reading skills needed for academic research or professional use. Proud of our past and looking towards the future, the ICLP teachers and staff warmly welcome students of all backgrounds to join us in the study of Chinese language and culture.
