The Chinese Language Center at National Chengchi University primarily offers non‑credit Mandarin courses for NCCU international students, exchange students, overseas Chinese, and other foreign learners.

Classes are conducted in small groups, with an average teacher‑student ratio of approximately 1:8. This ensures that each student receives sufficient attention from the instructor and has ample opportunities for classroom practice while learning a new language.

In addition to language courses, the Center provides various free supplementary language workshops, cultural seminars, and field trips related to course content. These activities allow students to gain a deeper understanding of both Mandarin and Chinese culture.

Courses are offered four times a year: spring, summer, fall, and winter. The spring, summer, and fall terms each last 12 weeks, while the winter term lasts 10 weeks. Classes are held for 15 hours per week, scheduled either from 8:10–11:00 a.m. or 12:10–3:00 p.m., depending on the student’s language proficiency level as determined by placement tests.

The program is divided into four levels: beginner, intermediate, upper‑intermediate, and advanced. Each level is further subdivided into 2–3 proficiency bands. Placement is based on students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities to ensure they study in the most suitable class.

Beyond the International Building facilities, NCCU also grants Center students access to other campus resources, including computer labs, sports centers, swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness rooms, and all university libraries. Students may use these facilities by presenting their student ID card (some venues may require additional fees).
